Random: My ear feels naked

I've had a cartilage piercing for 11 years, but have been toying with the idea of taking it out and letting it close up. Yesterday I was getting my hairs did and I popped the earring out and decided to not put it back in.

I swear 10 times at least this morning, I've reached up to toy with the earring to find it isn't there. Maybe it was my worry spot and I didn't know it, oh well.

  • which cartilage? The only piercing I consistently wear anymore (aside from my first holes) it my traegus. only reason I don't take it out is because it's not a normal earring. and I like playing with it.
  • I took out my cartilage piercing for a few years. It never closed up. I ended up putting the earing back in. I missed it when it was gone.

  • It's u in the pinna TT. I am going to just wait and see if it closes and how I feel about it.

I think I am having an attack of adult responsibility or something. I am thinking of interviews and new jobs and mortgages and breeding and what not.

the cartilage will take years to actually close - if anything the skin may grown back over it, but the hole in the cartilage will stay open. (there's very little blood supply in cartilage which is why it takes so long to heal)

I have 9 holes in each ear plus both traeguses pierced.
  • I want to get my traegus pierced, but I'm such a weenie. I'm scared it will hurt really bad or I'll get a keliod or something.

  • I took both my cartilage piercings out when I graduated college and got a real job.  About a year later I missed them so much (and I was going through a phase where I was feeling all old and responisble and needed to do something to remind myself I was still 22) I went and got them pierced again.  I realized that I can be an adult and have a real job even with some extra metal in my face!
