I need to know from other brides or brides to be if i am getting anxious for no reason or if you'd feel the same- also, what should i do?
Last October, my fiance and I found the perfect wedding venue for our taste- although a bit pricier than originally planned, we talked it over and decided to go forward with it. We sent in our deposit 2 weeks later- the check was cashed and we were sent the confirmation that it was set. We were told we would be contacted shortly by our coordinator for the first meet. 6 months went by without contact. I called to talk to someone about it and was told that I would be contacted in mid june to start planning (my wedding is the first week of sept.). June came and went and now it's the 2nd week in july.I go on their website and according to their timeline, I should start the menu and reception planning with coordinator 3 months before the date!! I call again and this time the same person now is irritated with me and now says "We don't start the planning until 6 weeks out"- but if I need to set up an earlier meet to satisfy my anxiety we could arrange one. It is now 6 weeks before my wedding- I haven't received any more word from the venue. I haven't been able to plan a menu- go over a drink budget plan or talk about options for decorating. The website states that there are a handful of decisions regarding valet parking, desserts, extra amenities that have a deadline of 1 month before date. That is in 2 weeks and I don't know what my options are and won't be given time to think over if we want to include these details. Do I call again? Am I being impatient? Is it ridiculous for the provider of my most expensive purchase to date to be so flaky? Has anyone else gone through this? HELP!
