A good reason H won't eat certain things

MIL is a horrible cook, HORRIBLE.She would cook butterflied pork chops in the oven at 375 for an hour.  Yeah.  Eat that cardboard.

My MIL did porkchops boiled in sauerkraut. I am not kidding.But H will try anything anyone else cooks, because it can't be worse. Trouble is, when it's tasty, he won't stop when he's full, either.

MIL sucked too.  She still eats like a spoiled child.  She blames it on having to work.  Whatever, my mom had FOUR kids and worked.  We had a good hot meal every night.MMMMMM pork and kraut and mashed potatoes.  One of my favorite meals.

The only thing MIL cooks that's "healthy" is a Lean Cuisine.

Yeah, a typical dinner in the H household when he was young-mind you there was one adult and four children.Three apples and a bag of popcorn.  OR a Totino's pizza split 5 ways.  Yes.  ONE pizza.

MIL's mother still thinks that a good meal is a half a sandwich and like three carrot sticks.  Meh.  No.  Or a crock pot meal in a bag.

My ILs aren't bad cooks.  The one thing that surprised me, though, was that they consider potato chips to be a side dish with dinner.  I'd never encountered that before or since.

Chips can be a side dish when we're doing tex-mex night or having burgers or sandwiches.  Otherwise, no.
