I haven't been on much since I got fired. Well, there was the few days for the wedding and mini moon, but we've been back for a week now. I'm trying to get back in the swing of things, but it's tough. I had an interview yesterday for a Legal Secretary position(which I NEVER get called for, b/c I have no direct legal secretary experience, but tons of admin experience and a degree in Criminal Justice). It was a total joke. The first thing out of the lady's mouth was "so, do you have any office experience." Huh? You read my resume, right? I was totally caught off guard, and handed her the copy of my resume I brought. She asked again, if I'd had office work experience, and to describe. Flustered, I started going into my previous work experience, and she cut me off to tell me about the position. FSA for health benefits, no dental (I already was turned off), and then she dropped the bomb. It was $25K for the salary. Most starting salaries for legal secretaries around here are $35K, and that's on the low end. Needless to say, we both cut the interview short when I told her what I needed to be making. Such a joke. It just sucks, I was so excited, but also kind of suspicious, to have an interview for that position, and then it turns out that way. I was pretty damn down for the rest of the day/night. It bothered me more than I thought it would.So, the job search continues. Waiting for my unemployment to come through. Atleast the weather is gorgeous and the house is clean and I put away all my wedding gifts and such. I'm trying to stay busy, and am deep into nesting/might as well get things done while I have the time off mode. /depressing update.
