Wedding Woes

OK, so hair styling sites

I have been looking at youtube how-to vids on hair dos. Does anyone have any other places to look? I'm gonna ask my BF hairdresser to teach me something cool the next time I see him. Something TRES rock and roll for staff meetings and such. Also, right now, all I have is a hair dryer and a flat iron. I have *some* products and have been eyeing some lovely items from Mr. Fekkai. My hair is too thin to hold hair pins unless it has been hair sprayed to all get out. Anyhow, welcome to my new year's goal. HALP me, please.

  • Hm.  There is a chick that teaches in a few vids to do the big texas hair in the back with just hair spray, a flat iron and comb.  Not too much backcombing.

  • You need flat hairpins, not those roundy weird ones. They'll come clipped to a card, and one side is flat, one is bumpy. The flat and bumpy sides touch each other, so you have to pry them apart from each other to put in the hair. I have thin hair, and I use pins all the time, especially since they don't make barrettes small enough for me anymore. I use a volumizing spray before drying, and a BIG round brush, as well as drying upside down, at least partially. Lots of layers also help volumize, if you're in the market for a cut. I have a set of large hot rollers, and when my hair was longer, I'd use those to help lift the roots, along with a curling gel. And that exhausts my knowledge of hairstyling, unless you want some awesome French braids.

  • BMom - I'm come to Denver so you can get some good measurements and I can get some French Braids.
