Wedding Woes

S/O wedding jobs

I was a personal attendant for a friend's wedding.Confession: Because of that experience, I don't get the whole personal attendant = bride's slave thing.  She asked me to do two things, bring the emergency bag (which also contained her wallet, cell phone and car keys) and help keep her train off the ground before the ceremony.  And I would have done both of those things without a 'job'.

Your friend is not a hosebeast.  That explains it.

But you probably got a gift for doing it!  And really, that's what is important.

Some people ask a lot more from "personal attendants." Really, your friend didn't need to ask and would have had someone to help her out. And that's the way it should be.

Some woman called Dr. Laura last week to b!tch that her daughter was asked to be a guest-book attendant instead of a BM at a cousin's wedding. Dr. Laura basically gave her a ho, sit down card. It was fun.

The funniest part of that story is that bmom listens to Dr. Laura.

I don't know why this is shocking. I agree with most of what she says, actually. Except when she's being sexist/sizeist, but no one's perfect.Should I also confess I'm a Glenn Beck fan, too? Have been since he was on CNN.

Actually, the real confession is that I was content not being a BM.  It didn't hurt my feelings at all to save the money that would have gone to dress, shoes, alterations and gas money (since I would have had to travel to another county to get a BM dress if asked). And I have strict no hosebeasts as friends rule, which is probably why my friends' wedding have been so enjoyable to help with.
