Wedding Woes

newest rage?

I was looking at some of my favorite 15yo's FB pics.  Apparently kicking off your heels for the dancing is not enough - you have to put on ankle socks?Anyone else seen/heard of this? Or am I just WAY old? anklesocks1.jpg (JPEG Image, 604x453 pixels) anklesocks2.jpg (JPEG Image, 604x453 pixels)

Re: newest rage?

  • Maybe the place they were at had a "no barefoot" policy and this was how to get around it.

I get not wanting dirty feet. But since when did teenagers ever care about that? (Or any of the number of wedding guests you always see with bare feet on the dance floor?)And I'm seeing lots of colors and patterns.  And the one girl in the top pic with one orange and one purple one.  IDK. I think this is a crazy young person thing. :)

  • Better than getting grocery store feet < wearing actual shoes.

  • Wearing those socks is a trend here, the 2 different ones especially. But, for DD and her friends not at formal events. At her black/white party a few weeks ago the girls all stayed in their heels.
  • On the old lady scale, it's one step above wearing those silky ballerina slippers. My MIL handed these out to everyone at my bridal shower because no one was allowed to scratch her new hardwood floors with their heels - that she installed just for the shower.  It was ridiculous.  Now she has mismatched hideous rugs covering the floor.
