No means no (with a confession sidecar)

One of my cws is having surgery today. There are four of us here, including her, that have gotten close. The other two are going to see her after work at the hospital. *I* don't want to go. I explained that hospitals are where germs and dead people are, so that = no MinM. So WTF is homey still asking me if I want to go. I said no yesterday, and I still mean it.Plusandalso, I really look up to this woman and I don't want to see her in the hospital after surgery. It would be like seeing my mom like that, and I, selfishly, don't want to do it.

  • I'd be with you. I don't like hospitals, I don't like visiting folk in the hospital and I don't like folk visiting me in the hospital.

  • My grandmother was in the hospital last month and I didn't go see her. She's fine.
    ..
  • I had a couple of coworkers stop and see me and it was just uncomfortable.  Don't go.I also wouldn't be too surprised if they get turned away.  A lot of hospitals have really restricted visitors.
  • Exactly...I don't need to be there, I'm not a MD and I wouldn't want people to come see me at the hospital. *I* wanted to bring her family dinner tomorrow night. In a home. Where, as far as I know, there aren't any dead bodies.

  • Taking dinner is a FAR superior idea.
  • Dinner is an excellent idea.
  • She isn't at her house, she is staying with her Mom who is an hour away. I don't think an hour is that big of a deal to driver her and her family dinner (esp her Mom who is letting in her family), but I have been told no.
