S/O vajayjay's that look like cow turds after giving birth...

CW told a story about after his son was born. (14 years old?)

After the baby was born, he handed the dr a pen and said, "Here, sew it up around this."

Yeah, it's not the best conversation for work. (Obviously.)

It reminds me of a group of people (I can't remember the name of the group of people, or area they come from) that does something similar to females just before puberty. It makes sex highly uncomfortable, to keep them "clean" for their husbands. (I.E. Virgins, not sleeping with other men.) That's so wrong.

It reminds me of that, that's not what he was going for.

It's call female circumcision. Generally also includes removal or part or the whole of the clitoris. Done in some African countries.

I remember my bil mentioning that he asked the doctor to toss in an extra stich after my sister had my nephew. At first I was like "how thoughtful"....and then I realized what he meant. Pig.

Yes, that's it. And it's done in the middle of no-where-ville, very unsanitary and against their will. (At least what I read about.)

That's really misogynistic.  Why not just give her a female circumcision, while he's at it.  That dude deserves to be castrated.

I swear, I think my OB gave me an extra stitch.  I would have expected things to loosen up a bit after DD, but it's the opposite.  It's either dryness, or overkill by my OB.

I would like to blame DH, but he was hovering over DD at the time.

Female genital mutilation, and there have been cases here in the States where immigrants wanted to perform it on their daughters. It's actually fairly widespread - more than just "the middle of nowhere", at any rate - and it is also performed on very young children.

From the Wikipedia page:Amnesty International estimates that over 130 million women worldwide have been affected by some form of FGM, with over 3 million girls at risk of undergoing FGM every year.

I don't mean to make light of this at ALL, but wanted to point out that this was also the subject of a very excellent <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0629403/" rel='nofollow'>www.imdb.com/title/tt0629403/</a>"><font color="#3366ff"><u>Law & Order</u></font> back in the Lenny Briscoe days.

I don't think that's making light, Heffa - L&O usually does an outstanding job with touchy subjects like that.

Yeah, Bmom. I'm admittedly not up to speed on the specifics. The book/article? I read was specifically about a place without modern medicine, dirty knives, razor blades and the like. "Middle of nowhere" was what I could think of to term it as. The lady that performed it on the child/girl would take her away from the village into a remote area. She would literally perform the FMG with dirt/bugs/animals/whatever around, outside, with tools that were not very good. The girls would most often get infections and fever from it. So, it's pretty much "middle of nowhere".

There may be other cases that aren't though. I was just referencing what I read.

Sometimes female circ is done with a sharp stone.  It's heinous.  I've seen the results of it firsthand and it's horrific.

Also, do you know how often at deliveries the guy leans over and says "could you pout in a extra stitch?"  I bet I've heard it at least once every two weeks.  Ha ha ha, yeah, never heard that one before.

Sometimes being female makes me shake my head.

It's not just in Africa, but also in Asia and Europe.  What saddens me the most is the interviews by mothers who have had it done, and know the pain and suffering caused by it, but still feel the need to force their daughters to do it because it is "tradition" and I even read about moms who forced it because if "they had to do through it, so do their daughters", like it is some sort of exclusive club.  Jezebel.com had some great articles from a conference a few weeks ago.  It is really eye opening and much more common than people realize.

p.s. - unless I'm bleeding uncontrollably, ripped or cut up, there will be no stitches in my vajayjay.  That's what kegels are for :-)
