Wedding Woes

speaking of 'f*ck cancer' (positive, really. And I know, we weren't speaking of cancer)

guess whose mom is one of the speakers at a big lunchon thing for cancer survivors today?

Yep, Doc thought that mom's experiences--especially the struggle w/ meds and all that, was something that folks still dealing w/ needed to hear--esp. since, you know, it's 'ended well'.

(did you know you can't put f -vee-c-k cancer in the subject?  yep)

Yay for your mom.  Hopefully this will help at least one person.
  • Awesome!! Good for your mom.

    And yes, f*ck cancer.

And 'v' can no longer be used to replace 'u' in f-u-c-k
  • I want to know why TK can block sh-ii-t and f-v-ck, but can't get everything else straight.

    That's really awesome for your mom.  I'm glad she's a survivor.  I know that's a huge thing.  :)

Yay for your mom!   That's awesome.

And, yes, f--k cancer.   One of my favorite aunts (I have 22) was just diagnosed with brain and lung cancers.   Obviously, the prognosis is not good.  Another aunt died last week of cancer.
  • Wow, that's awesome.  I hope someone can be helped with her input.

  • Fuq cancer, for real. I'm a cancer research nurse at a clinic that does phase 1 clinical trials only, so I know soooo well that cancer sucks it hard.

mom did clinical trial for part of hers--they were testing length/# of certain treatments.  (she was in the longer/more treatment group)

Turns out she probably would have been better off w/ fewer/less agressive treatments (since she reacted badly to treatments)...but, she gets a 'the more you know' theme for being in the trial I guess.

Yeah, that was probably a phase 1 then. We determine the maximum tolerated dose (MTD) in humans.
