Wedding Woes

AWing co-worker

awesome co-worker left a present on my desk while i was working at home yesterday.

6 packages of [cheesesteak] rolls, direct from Philly:

i sent a pic message to DK who could only ask "where...did...you...get...those?" He is SOOOOOOOO excited - you can't get these in TX, and the rolls are what make the cheesesteak. This is why chessesteaks in the Philly area taste different than everywhere else.  looks like i need to go shopping, get some cheez whiz and find a butcher to shave a steak for me.

coworker lives in TX too - he had a friend bring a case of rolls down this past weekend. Co-worker is in the same boat as me - he moved here from Philly (North DE) last year - although he was born/raised in the Philly/DE area. We're going to bring him some goodies back from the Polish deli that we love in North Philly, next time we visit. They make/smoke their kilbalsa onsite., and it's amazing. . . but they don't ship.

Ah...H and I miss the food of our respective hometowns so much. They say home is where the heart is, but it might also be where the food is.

that's one of my favorite things to do when i go back to Pittsburgh - hit up all of my favorite local restaurants - or do a "food tour" in Oakland - hit all of my favorite restaurants near Pitt's campus.

I know...I missed out on all of my foods when I went back home because my mom is diabetic now. And seafood is "too expensive." Blergh....I want In N Out.
