Wedding Woes

Morning guys

How was everybody's weekend? Mine was good. I didn't want to come back today, but I got up to pee and my alarm went off, so I didn't even have the handy excuse of sleeping through my alarm.

Spent some time doing some deep scrubbing around the house, got the cats a cat tree (which they love) on sale, petted some puppies for adoption, and generally bummed around. It was nice, and I'm glad I had the weekend.

What did you guys do? Has anybody heard from 6 yet? She's not my fb friend (I feel so unloved) so I can't even see if she put up pics.

Hello.  Our weekend was pretty fantastic all around.

The three of us played hooky on Friday.  We went to my appt. (the kiddo stayed in the waiting room, of course).  Everything is still going swimmingly.  DefConn is just chillin'.  My BP is a little elevated, but nothing to be concerned about yet.  After my appt, we went home and cleaned house.  And then we headed over to my IL's to hang out.  We went shopping with MIL and SIL (yes, with three kids) for shower food.   And then we went back to my IL's house to hang out and wait for DH's grandpa and his wife to get into town.  We then went out to dinner (DH's grandpa's treat, which was awesome).  Afterward, the IL's let the kiddo spend the night and DH and I went home and relaxed.

Saturday, we woke up and went to breakfast.  I had a hair appt.  After that, we headed down to my IL's.  We hung out and helped get ready for the shower.   The shower was awesome.  We received a lot of stuff.

SIL is insane (in a good way).  She had no less than a dozen packages for me to open.  She said she's been stockpiling since she found out we were expecting.   MIL bought us our glider.  DefConn is definitely going to be one well dressed little man this sping/summer.

After my shower, DH was still out with his dad and grandpa, but I decided to head to my sister's house to hang out with my family and have dinner.  We had a great time.  My nephew kept us all very entertained.

Yesterday, I woke up super early and couldn't get back to sleep because all I wanted to do was 'nest'.  So I went and hauled in the stuff I could from the shower and started going through it and putting it away and decided what I was going to wash and so on and so forth.  My dad brought over the rest of what was left.  We went and did some exchanging at Target and shopping at Sam's Club.  I got my TY cards done, just need stamps.  We got the glider set up and we're pretty well good to go to have a baby.  (what the what?! LOL)

So this means that he's going to be stubborn and make us wait until the last second (which is April 7th at this point...If he's not here, I'll be induced).

And now I'm back at work today...Blah.

That sounds like a really nice weekend! I'm glad you got some great things and had an awesome shower. LOL @ your SIL and her huge bag o presents

I feel i may be this way w/ Friend who is pg. Yesterday I bought her a big box of pampers. It's not a fun present but it will be very handy when the kid comes.

What kind of stuff did you get?

    OMG...What didn't I get?

I got a crap-ton of clothes...And all different sizes, which is great.  A lot of toys/teethers.  Shoes (for when he's older).  Socks.  Pacifiers.  Sippy cups. Plates, spoons, bowls.  A car bottle warmer.  Gift cards.  A jogging stroller (well actually 2, people didn't do the registry thing right).  A basket of baby toiletries. Blankets.  Burp cloths.  Towels and washcloths.  My sister made me a diaper cake.  And I got even more diapers and wipes.  Dreft detergent and unscented fabric softner.

We had so many towels, washcloths, and burp cloths that I returned some along with the duplicate jogging stroller.   We bought our pack 'n play, a hamper, and a second diaper bag with our store credit.

Oh.  I am not one for showers, but I bet it was nice to receive all that stuff.  And that is so sweet that your SIL has been stockpiling, she's a keeper, I think.

So have you guys settled on a name yet!?!?  *stirring the pot*

This weekend was low key again for us.

Saturday just the usual, went to lunch then to see "Paul"...I thought it was pretty funny.  Though it was rated R just to be racy and sweary...which I thought was a bit much.  Also a bit much?  Parents bringing their 5 y.o.s to R rated movies.  No....just dont' do it.  Met a friend for dinner on Saturday, I love seeing her because she is low-key and no drama and conversation is so easy with her.

Sunday was really quiet, groceries....cooking, lounging.  I did run too...and actually passed my dad on the running trail.  I pat myself on the back for that.

Wow you wracked up! That's awesome! I'm glad the shower went so well for you.

O that sounds like a nice weekend. Except, you know, for the children in the R rated movie. WTF, people?!

I was all *hiss boo* at those parents, and actually, I think I counted no less than 4 children under 10.

I was off for spring break last week at it was divine.

I ended the week in H-town at my cousin's 40th birthday party. Oh-My- to the-Goodness did I have fun. I haven't partied like that since 1991.

    I had so much fun.
    Shots were had.
    Hurt feet from the dancing.
Flew home Sunday and stayed in bed the entire day.

    Whew! I think I've recovered.

    I want Nola's week.

Friday we vegged with the new kid.  Saturday my brother and sister and their respective families came over.  6let had a grand time.  I got to eat my SIL's awesome lasagna while my sister held baby girl.

Sunday FIL and sMIL got here to help for a few days.  Baby girl is sleeping in some chunks of 3 hrs. so life is pretty okay.

FTR- There are a couple of pics on the FB group.

Thanks O.  We are all doing well, but I still looked at DH last night and said "we have kidsssss.  plural."  The drugs must be wearing off.

sMIL is taking care of baby and DH is out with 6let right now.

Late to this, but oh well,

Glad everyone had a great weekend!

Saturday was gorgeous, so we slapped baby in the baby carrier and ran errands and took a lovely hike around a nearby nature park.  Sunday was interesting.  We got a baby shower courtesy of DH's church.  Yep, for an outside baby.  It was good though, had a better turnout than my inside baby shower.  Got a bit of cute stuff :)...although I am still floored how baby shower gifters love to give clothes.  We've got so many little girl clothes, she gets more wardrobe changes than Cher or Celine Dion.

I know!  DefConn is wardrobed to the hilt until after Labor Day.  He may not have to wear anything twice.

I also had a problem with washcloths and towels.  I don't need 50 washcloths and 25 towels for one baby.  I do not even have 50 washcloths for me, DH, and the kiddo.
    I defnitely did some returning.
