car shopping - subaru related

i'm going to test drive the outback tonight. saw that another local dealer was going to be getting in the exact car that i want *color, features, edition, etc.), so asked them to e-quote it for me. their starting number is very good, and only a little higher than where i was hoping to settle. if i can get them to knock another $500 or so off the price and/or throw in some extras (like the dog guard, and some cargo nets/carriers, etc.) i think we'll have a deal.

car dealer shows the car in transit with an eta of 9/7 - so i'm hoping this can be expedited, but if not we'll be carpooling for a couple of weeks. i lose my (insurance paid) rental on 8/22

YAY for you.  I hope for your sake that they can do ALL of that for you.  I saw a Sub today and thought of you....I'm jealous. ;)

    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yay!  and how goes the carseat and stroller -- did you upgrade those, too or just replace?

our carseat broke and we sent it back to the mfc for cash.  we used the cash to buy a convertible.

our insurance has a $250 limit on personal property. it won't fully cover the dog guard/carseat base/stroller/random extras trapped in the trunk area, so we are getting the $250 from our insurance and then claiming the rest from hers.

I'm going to buy a convertible for my car, hopefully get a free dog guard for the new car, and pocket the rest. we have 2 umbrella strollers, so while the big one is nice to have (so we can chuck bags into it when shopping), we can make due with the smaller strollers.

Wolverine is up to 17lbs, and she's almost average height-wise, so I think she'll be more comfortable in the bigger seat.
