Wedding Woes

I'm in a funk

I'm still not healthy.  The doc says to "treat the symptoms."  I don't appear to have any infection.  And if I have antibiotics again, just to be sure, it'll wipe out my immune system.  So I sit here, all feverish and miserable like, hacking and blowing out the most gross stuff ever.

Coirker has been the black cloud of the office since last week.  Seriously, she's hella toxic lately.  We had a talkin-to yesterday and I told her if I heard even one slightly audible grumble, I was sending her home without pay.  I expected her to call out today.  What do you know, she showed up with a smile and has been pleasant since.  I got tired of hearing it.

Other coirker is OOT on vacation and while I don't miss her rotten-toothed mug, I'm sick of doing her work b/c she never completed any of her big projects and now I'm stuck doing them.

DD's ear infection still isn't gone.  After 10 days of antibiotics.  So I have to take her in today for antibiotic shots.  And we'll have the "tubes" talk then.  <sigh>  I don't want her to have surgery, but I also don't want to have hearing loss.  And I haven't done much research, but now that it's becoming a reality we'll have to make a decision.  Blerg.

Because of all of her illnesses lately, plus the all-day rainy weather, we still have not one her one-year photo shoot.  It is annoying trying to coordinate/recoordinate w/the photog., who has turned out to be a major flake.  Annoying.

H was mad last night that I said "No" to a backyard project.  I had numerous good reasons, but apparently none of them trump his "But I Want It."  He needs to find better ways to make himself happy.  Spending $ and eating crappy food just ain't helping anyone in our household.

I've been listening to a gut-wrenching breakup song all day.  I lost it, but found it in the depths of the files on my phone.  So I've been bumming myself out with that sadness.

On the plus side, I'm leaving at 3 instead of 4, like I'd planned.  AND a vendor sent me a box of frosted sugar cookies as a thank you.  I can haz those cookies on the way to pick up DD.

I also had my adenoids out and tubes in.  It made a world of difference.

    Blergh. I'm sorry.

I knew a ton of kids who had tubes when I was young. I think it's about as routine as a surgery can get.

Tubes aren't so bad. I really wish that we had gotten them for Autumn because he has double ear infections a lot. I think she is too old now and the doc just kept saying that "some kids are prone to them (ear infections)" and I didn't push. Now she still gets them occasionally and I wonder if the tubes would have prevented it.

Friend's kid has them and she said the surgery portion took all of 10 minutes.

I hope you feel better soon. Maybe tell H to start a "make Nicole feel better" project.

One of the women I worked with was totally against the tubes because she was so worries, but her daughter really needed them, and it turned out to be day surgery, and the baby was TOTALLY fine the next day. I have heard nothing but good things about it.

have you ever had mono? (or have they tested for it?)

would you consider going on Mystery Diagnosis?

I hope your daughter feels better. My chronic sinusitis has caused ear infections before - hopefully she won't get to that point as an adult.

Barbie, no.  They ran that test.  Got the results Monday.  Negativo.

    Mystery Diagnosis, YES.

I'm hoping so, Barbie.  I have chronic sinusitis and bad allergies.  I'm going to explore the allergy shot route, to see if that helps.  If not, I guess I'll be having the sinus surgery.

I'm sorry nico.  Even one of those things sucks, but to have all of that is too much for one person.  I hope you all feel better soon.

Sorry, Skankenstein. I hope you feel better soon.

As you know from my MIL's babbling on FB, my BIL had the tubes in as a kid, and it made a world of difference. I think it's pretty routine, and DD will be just fine.

    Enjoy those cookies. Yum.

I'm sure it's hard to have a sick baby. I hope she starts to feel better soon.
