"for those family friends n clients. I will b having a full hysterectomy on August 15 so get ur appointment sooner than later I will b off 4-6 weeks. Trust me I no it sucks. .."

MIL also informed me that she may have to have surgery because her vaginal wall is thinning and her rectum is pushing through.  I didn't need to know that.  Especially since it's just uncomfortable and not life threatening.  Surgery is far, far away.

    Why do people not believe "I'm taking time off" is sufficient? This is why people badger those of us who don't like to overshare into oversharing.

    OK, now I have an anatomical question about rectums and vaginas.  Somehow, I thought 3 holes meant 3 tubes leading to the holes. The rectum and vagina don't share a wall, do they?  Like, if the wall thins and breaks, you're not going to start pooping out of your vagina, right? Wouldn't there be 2 walls breaking for that to happen?

    Yeah, now I'm scared. Maybe I'm at lower risk for this since no babies went through there, stretching and thinning things out.  Yikes.

    the vagina is one tube, and the rectum is another tube, but their walls are back to back. it is possible for a tear to occur between the two so that poop will leak out through the vagina.

    this is a huge problem in third world countries where they have substandard care during L&D - a fistula can develop if the woman is in labor too long because the baby is "stuck" in the birth canal. then the woman will generally not receive medical treatment to fix the issue - she'll become an outcast in society, and this will lead to long term health problems (infections, etc.)
