Wedding Woes

6 - re: party

Is it this weekend? (no time to order hats online?)

Did he pick the ice cream theme?  Dex has been pretty consistent with his request for an m&m theme for the last week or so. We may end up with that.  At least it's easy.  (And no, I'm not getting his face on any.)

It's not until Sept 11.  I have time to on-line if I have to.  My mom has a bunch of stores she goes to on the regular so she can look.

He didn't totally pick the theme, but ice cream is one of his favoritist things on earth.  I didn't think Billy the Exterminator would be appropriate so there you go.  Sadly most ice cream stuff is girly so I'm scrounging a little.  I'm making the cupcakes in cones and have sprinkles and cherries to put on top.  We have an ice cream cone pinata.  I was going make ice cream cone balloons and I saw a thing to use cones and yarn for decor too.

I love the M&M idea.  Walmart had a bunch of tees, dispensers, and other stuff.  I bought one for a 6let present.  He likes "dum dums" too.  For some reason he can say the letter M, but not M&Ms.

Dex doesn't say "m&ms," either. We told him a while back that if he peed on the potty, he could have an m&m.  He interpreted this as "Two Ms!!" So now they are just "Ms," and he gets 2 of them for pee. ("5 is for poop!")

Desmond will just randomly stand below the cabinet and whine, "eeeemmmm!" when he wants one.

And Dex is so excited about his "M party."

FIL is big into m&ms and has a bunch of dispensers. I figure I can borrow them and scatter them around the house. Our awesome cake baker will surely come up with something super awesome besides a round cake with an M on it. (or if she does, it'll be all sculpted to have the exact proportions of a real m&m. Hilarious.

And yes, favors and decorations are so freaking easy.  I will definitely scope out walmart for t-shirts and stuff.

That's awesome.  I was going to suggest cake ideas until I remembered your awesome cake person.

Yeah. I'm kindof curious what she does, since it's such a bland theme. (I mean, it's not going to be scale model dump trucks with the truck actually dumping stuff, you know?)

I'm really curious. Did I ever share the baseball cake she did for her niece? Unbelievable. I'm trying to compile some pics of her cakes to send to Cake Wrecks for Sunday Sweets. They don't compare to, say, Mike's Amazing Cakes, but they are as good as many of the cakes on there. and the fact that they also taste delicious is pretty awesome.

She could do a bag with M&Ms spilling out?

The guy that did my wedding cake used to own a shop.  He and my mom are doing cakes right now and are starting to make some money.  It's their "retirement" job.
