Feeling lucky to be in Seattle (little long, sorry)

I had to post and comment on something I saw on another post. I clicked on someone's siggy picture to see it a bit larger and it showed a few posts around the site below the picture. You know what I'm talking about, yeah? Well, one of the titles caught my eye, and I had to click it. It said "Tired of you ladies". It was posted by a new girl to the site, basically just RIPPING all these other girls a new one, calling them rude and all these other really mean and hurtful things. It made me realize just how great all the girls on this board really are.. Everyone is so nice and supportive of everyone else. I was shocked by what this girl was saying! And all the posts that followed in retaliation were just as mean. We are all in the same place in our lives, about to make this huge leap and we are all scared and stressed and excited, and so much more. I was so sad for that girl. This is getting long, but I just want to say thank you. Thank you all for being here for me and everyone else during this really exciting time in my life. YOU ALL ARE THE BEST!

I agree with you! When I first ventured on here I saw some really nasty boards, and honestly didn't want to post for the longest time. But after lurking on the Seattle board, I finally did, and am very glad I did. I think we do have the best board, and the nicest and smartest ladies!

me too. When i first join there was a few snarky brides on DIY and I was totally discouraged. I actually started to post a lot on the vintage board and they were very very nice so I thought i would go to seattles board. The girls here are so sweet and very supportive but still give honest opinions without being harsh. every once in a while i venture out to another board but I always find the rude ones LOL

i agree! all other boards are so mean.. i mean sometimes if people ask for honest opinions i'll give them but i try to make it constructive.. the seattle girls are REALLY the BEST BEST BEST!

Lol, it always has been.  They're also really snarky on the NYE board (is it still called Not Yet Engaged??).  The girls on a lot of the national boards go by their etiquette which, really, varies from one region to the next.  I think the west coast tends to be more laid back when it comes to following "proper etiquette" when it comes to weddings.  That and really - will you ever run into someone from a national board?  Likely not.  How about someone from your local board?  Better chance.  I wonder sometimes if that comes into play with the way some of the other girls are on the other board just because there is a VERY slim chance they will ever come face to face with another Knottie they just ripped into.

There is no particular reason for them to be so snarky, they just get off on being biitches. Some people just like to be miserable.

I completely agree.  I only go on this board and my wedding month board (which LUCKILY the girls are just as nice as all of you! )  But when questions come up I always go straight to here, I don't feel like being judged on a simple question!  Can we say Bridezillas??  Yikes
