I dunno. I just watched the ABCNews video, and I'm left wondering why the students were looking for this blog in the first place. It makes them seem like little shits, frankly. 

I also know that my sense of humor runs to the mocking, and I don't understand why she's being disciplined for saying extremely general things that anyone might say about any crop of coworkers/peers/friends/etc. Is it because it happens to be about teenagers? So? She's venting. 

I think she's an idiot for not trying to be more anonymous, but I can't imagine getting all upset about this. Thoughts?

ONe of the parenting boards I cheat w/ was all about stringing her up the other day.

I get so hostile w/ the idea that teachers are supposed to 1) think kids are angels 2) have no life.  We're/they're not paid to be saintd nuns.

Hell, I had a great student name to share here today but I won't because that would be dumb and get me fired.
And I sometimes change details when I post on here (you get a truer answer to things on FB obviously ...I mean, I keep things gender neutral and I don't give enough info that you could figure out who I mean--If I do, I 'tweak' it a bit.

And really, tempring things because you're putting them online is smart.

I think she was an idiot for putting that all out onto a blog in the first place.  I think the staff/administration are overreacting a bit with how to handle it, but...I have no sympathy for the woman.

I don't think teachers get paid enough to be saints in their off-hours, and I totally understand being fristrated with PITA students; but I think this falls under "prefessional courtesy" for me. If she'd been in any other job, it would still be an issue. She talked about blogging while at work, and bad mouthed "clients", and totally didn't bother to keep it a secret. 
 
I don't have a lot of sympathy for her. Except for the one student's comment about her pregnancy, that was plain awful.

I think she has a right to air her opinion, but they she should have tried to be more anonymous. Heck, that lady blogging about school LUNCHES kept her identity under wraps.
