Wedding Woes

Anyone know of an anxiety pill to take before wedding?

Hello all, I have pretty bad anxiety during stressful times and I was wondering if anyone has heard of or tried an anxiety pill before their wedding to calm their nerves?

    Miss GS:
I agree you should talk to your doctor...  I know how you are feeling and I'm struggling with the anxiety as well!  I have a lot of training in psychology, so I'm familiar with a variety of medications, but obviously you'll need to talk to a doctor to get a prescription etc.
However, you can research medications and their side effects etc.  There are different kinds of medicines that can help long term vs. short term and it really depends on what kind of anxiety you have.  Xanez is a "short term" anxiety medication (helpful with panic attacks and it works quicker) and there are an assortment of long term anxiety medications such as Zoloft, Cymbalta, etc. etc.
Talk to your doctor about which is best for you.  It doesn't hurt to get some help with your overall anxiety - not ONLY for the wedding! :)
Hang in there and good luck!

Thanks for the advice sstrom, I thought maybe there was something you could buy over the counter to help relieve stress a little, but I will send a message to my doctor and see if he can recommend anything.

I do make-up for weddings, and pretty much every bride I know takes rescue remedy while they are getting ready. It is good because you can still have your glass or 3 of bubbles while getting ready, without worrying about drugs you are taking. There is a sleep one aswell. It is based on natural ingrediants, see http://www.rescueremedy.com/
I have never taken it myself, but have given it to my stressed out cat (who used to do weird things like pee on the stove when he was stressed) and it worked really well for him haha. Goodluck!

If you're looking for something to help you sleep, you can buy melatonin over the counter. It's a natural herb supplement that helps you relax and go to sleep. Xanax is the only thing I can think of for anxiety, but that must be prescribed by a psychiatrist I believe.

I find that running is the best help for me. It's a great natural way to get rid of stress.
