Wedding Woes

Am i being too "Matchy, Matchy"???? Help!!

OK so my wedding is very non-traditional... I am a very modern bride.. Love contemporary, bold colors.. so my wedding colors are going to be black and turquoise, 2 of my favorite colors..

My groomsmen are in all black with a turquoise tie and hanky, my girls are in a black dress with a turquoise band at the waist.... I got blue and black napkins for my cocktail hour, I have turquoise, white and black flip flops for the dance floor for those who needed to rest the feet and i wanted to have my dinner table decorated with a black table cloth with some turquoise accents including the center piece..

Is this too  matchy matchy?? I have my vision and it includes using the colors in the wedding overall... Someone told me it may be to much and now i am worried and doubting my vision.. I feel that no matter what you do, people will always critizie what you do... Should i tone it down??? Don't use the colors for the dinner setting?

HELP!!!!!!!
Do i just ignore the comments and do what i want?

thanks for any input..

</div><div>Meh. It's your wedding. Do what you want! Don't let others tell you what is and isn't enough. </div><div>
</div><div>Is it my taste? No. I'd probably break it up, maybe with a little butter yellow or coral or cream but that's me, not you. If you want an all black and turquoise wedding, and you already can see it in your head, then do it. Own it. Don't let others tell you what you do and do not want.

It sounds like a lot, but as long as you and the FI are cool with it nobody else matters.

For the love of pete skip the flip-flops.  Adults no how to dress for a party.

My wedding is on a beach.. reason why i chose to have flip flops..
Im gonna just use the centerpieces as a compliment color for the dinner table and just use white for the rest..
    thanks for the input!

Again.  Adults know how to dress for a wedding on the beach.  Even though you said they were for the dance floor, not the beach.

IDK how I feel about black tablecloths for a beach wedding.  That seems a little...dark.

As far as the flip flops go...there's a lot of weddings I've been to that there's a basket of ON flip flops on the dance floor for the guests and I've been given flip flops as a BM for the reception.  I also gave my BM's flip flops for the reception.

    You can shun me.  :)

As a Floridian, I will say that on the right beach with the whitest sand possible, the black tablecloths would look beautiful.  However, if they're exposed to the sun they will become hot hot and more hot.

Also, black and turquoise =/= nontraditional.  Isn't that damn near the color scheme Tiffany uses?

The dinner won't be on the sand in the sun... Regardless it will save me money if i just use the tableclothes they have.. I think i am going to stick with a white based dinner setting and use my centerpieces to bring in color..

Tiffany is more of a greenish/ bluish color.. this is straight up turquoise..
Its the color thats in all the modern furniture magazines...Smile

Regardless.  Do whatever you want.  It's your wedding.  If they think it's tacky, they won't do it at theirs.
