Mean

Why is everyone so mean on here?

Re: Mean

  • Because we hate the "other".
  • What have we done that's "mean"? Told the truth? Given advice someone didn't want to hear? Not validated your crazy?

I need better examples to give you reasons. (Of course, we all know I'm just a cyber-bully, so maybe that's my only reason.)

  • it's not that regs are mean, it's that the people calling "mean" are too dumb to understand the quality responses.

i don't think that many people understand what mean really is. i don't smile at strangers on the street, and if any one of them poked me on the shoulder to ask why i was so mean to them, i would probably laugh and walk away.

When I first got here, I thought some people were unecessarily nasty but have come to realize, for the most part, they are just honest.

Are some people more diplomatic about it than others? Sure. But that's just different personalities. (And one thing we're not short on around here is personality!!!!)

Are some people seemingly always looking for a fight or to put someone down? Sure. But that's just how some people operate.

And are there a few on here that really are just plain mean??? You bet there are. Oh well. C'est la vie.

The majority of the people on here have lots of wedding knowledge, good ideas and intentions. But you can't expect constant validation and agreement. If you construe constructive criticism as 'mean', this isn't the place for you.
