Wedding Woes

Bump in the road

So it is just over 4 weeks before the wedding, and my future husband dumped his motorcycle to avoid hitting a kid, resulting in a broken collarbone.   This means he will be off work for at least 6weeks. Any suggestions how we can economically put final touches on our informal outdoor reception as money will be tight?  Specifically, table covers and decorations.  Also, have not found a bartender-any suggestions?

Holy cow! Glad everybody will (eventually) be okay! I would also look at the budget, see if there is anywhere you can cut back that you have not signed contracts. You can also call vendors, explain the situation, and see if there is any way they can give you any kind of discount if you make less expensive substitutions. Like Chrissy, I agree that you have to be super budget conscious!

I'm sorry to hear about the accident:

Step one- ask around for a cheap bartender and any leftover decorations
Step two- cancel what you can
Step three- hit target/walmart and get some cheap fabric.  Use that for tablecloths

Step four- MOST IMPORTANTLY.  Do not spend more than you have.  If you don't have an emergency fund start one now.  6 wks should also qualify for std (not save the dates, short term disability) check it out.

Thank you for the suggestions.  I know we will get through this and may some day laugh about it.  Yes, I count my blessings that he is still with me today-that is most important.  Of course now they can locate his motorcycle-hope it turns uo. Thanks everyone!!!
