One last WTF

Oldest SIL is apparently tight on money.  I love her dearly, but she was contemplating cancelling her home phone because they're squeaky right now.

I of course looked at H and said, "maybe stop smoking".  Okay, her and her H probably smoke about 1-2 packs a day, so that's around $10 a day (at cheapest).  Uh huh.  That would take care of the $30 in three days.

I know it's not easiest, but I wish they would entertain the idea at least.

I'm with you.  My SIL had a seizure last month.  It was her first in several years.  Come to find out, she hadn't taken her medication for 3 days because she had run out and couldn't afford to fill her prescription.  We would have gladly paid for it had she let us know.  However, both she and her husband are heavy smokers and I know she did not go without smokes at all, let alone three days.  Grrrrr.
