Wedding Woes

Hey DG

What's up with the daycare situation?  Just curious if there were still pillow fights.  (hehe)

Still not great. And I just put 2 and 2 together last night that the timing of Dex's new nail biting habit matches the start of the new daycare. So double ugh. I did get our regular babysitter to fill in a lot more before she leaves for college, so hopefully that will help. My plan is to send them on te days that the good teacher is there, then 12 half days with te bad teacher, then as much babysitter as I need to fill in the gaps. 10/hr vs 7.50, so not horrible We also have probably 1 week in July and 1 week in August at my parents' place. Then hopefully things will get better when the real preschool starts up again. If not, I'll look at other options. The nail biting worries me A LOT. Sure, it's not cocaine, but I bit my nails for TWENTY YEARS, and it was a big problem. I need to be able to say we tried everything we could to keep it from continuing. Thanks for asking. :

I'm sorry.  That sucks that you have to avoid a teacher and pay someone else to watch the kids.  I hope the preschool turns things around and maybe it would make next summer easier?

I've got nothing on the nail biting except maybe clear polish?  My dad is a lifelong nail biter and I don't even notice it.  67 years and counting.

There are lots of options for the nail biting, and we haven't tried anything yet. I would have put tabasco on his fingers last week, but he is always rubbing his eyes. I"m thinking maybe nail polish remover? Once it dries, it shouldn't hurt his eyes, but it will still taste gross.

I"m really hoping to solve that problem by addressing the underlying anxiety, though I have no idea how to do that (am calling the pedi after they get back from their lunch).
