I've been working on a particular project since I started with my company. It's 95% the source of my frustration but partially because I think the manager is a dipshit. But today they just emailed me and asked if I wanted to take over 50% of her duties (the other 50% will go to another manager). I'm in no way a manager- in fact, in terms of title I have the lowest (I'm a level 2 vs everyone else who is level 3 or greater).
This means less travel. Enough travel to keep me from murdering my family, no so much that I become increasingly familiar with the staff of the various hotels, airports, and car rental desks (shout out to the Hertz desk in Tyler, TX for always hooking me up!)
And I'll be able to angle for a much more significant raise during my annual performance review.
