Wedding Woes

weekend?

How was your weekend? Do anything fun?

Saturday we got news that our offer was accepted for our new house in TX. Provided all inspections go well, we close 8/9/10. (ohhh... weird, i just noticed the numbers now...) We spent most of the day flying home, bathing the dogs, and relaxing after our trip.

Sunday we did some unpacking / chores and then went to dinner with my ILs, SIL A, A's H, niece, and A's MIL. ILs picked us up and drove to the restaurant, which is out the in the Lancaster, PA area (near SIL - an hour or so from where we live). FIL got pulled over for speeding on the way home, but was wearing his Vietnam Veteran hat, and managed to get out of the ticket. (State trooper's dad was a Vietnam Vet too.)

FI and I started moving into our house. We painted and cleaned and threw out tons of crap the sellers left in all sorts of miscellaneous places.

We were up til 2:30AM last night (this morning?) finishing up packing and were up at 6:30AM to get the uhaul truck.

Luckily, I am working today, so I don't have to actually move anything. (Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!)

My weekend was pretty good, considering. I hung out with bff, spent some time alone, went out to eat with FI, had good food.

We went campiing, which was fun.  We only got rained on once and that was Saturday morning.  The heat and humidity wasn't too bad either.

We got home about 2:15pm yesterday.  We went to see "Knight and Day" and went out to dinner.  DH and I are really enjoying our time w/o the kiddo, which is nice.  We still miss him, but we're having fun overall.

Had a bachelorette party on Saturday.  It technically started at 3 with a 2.5 hour break in the middle to get ready at home.  It was very questionable...I mean scandalous.

I was pretty much worthless yesterday.

Went over to SIL's house, sat in their blow up pool with the nieces and family and then ate their food.  :)  It was good.

We did some belated birthday celebrating for Mr. Arb with his mom.  Checked out the new camera I'm planning on buying before our next vacation (Canon Powershot S90).  Watched this movie called Nightbreed.  Did homework.

ETA: I forgot to add the best part of the weekend. I have been playing phone tag for about a month with a good friend of mine that recently had a baby.  We finally got a chance to talk on Saturday night for about 20 minutes.  She just got engaged and told me that they're planning on having the wedding out in CA, so it looks like I'll finally have an opportunity to make it out to the west coast.

We spent Saturday getting ready for yesterdays open house. H did a ton of yard work and pressure washed the house. I cleaned inside and got rid of crap we don't use.

Autumn stayed at her grandparents so it was a quiet evening.

Sunday we had to get out for the open house so we went to pick up Autumn, had lunch and saw Toy Story 3.

There were 7 other open houses in our neighborhood (there are EIGHTEEN other for sale besides us). They all had zero people come by, we had one couple.

They live in a neighborhood down the street and are looking for an investment property. They sat and talked with our realtor for almost an hour, loved the house and the guy said it reminds him of the first house he ever bought. The were wondering about mortgage rates for a second home (since they aren't selling theirs) and seemed really interested.

She is giving them a couple of days and then will check to see where they are at.

I hope they decide to buy it, so-- fingers crossed!

Not a bad weekend. On Friday, DH and I were both tired, so we just hung out at home.

Saturday, I overslept and missed yoga, so I went to the gym quickly and we met a friend for a late breakfast/early lunch at First Watch. Then we went over to the mall for a short time, and then to look at a house. The house is PERFECT, with all the bathrooms and the kitchen redone. We're putting an offer on it today I believe. Then I went to my hair appointment and we met some friends for pizza and went over to their house for dessert and to hang out.

Yesterday was church, food shopping, and then we tried out Sweet Tomato's Sunday brunch. Meh. We bought a baby gift at BRU, and then went to Petco to get some more fish for our tank. Then we were both zonked, so we went home to relax on the couch and watch about 5 episodes of Burn Notice.

I went to the outlet mall with a local nestie on Saturday a.m. and we had a great time.  I spent $200, but got some phenomenal deals for DD and me.  H was SOL - theyd didn't have anything for him.  :(  Oh well.

Sunday, we did a lot of house chores/errands and spend the evening at the beach.  We took DD to the beach park and then out to dinner at a beach-front place.  And there's always the moron holding up the french fry, trying to feed the gulls.    ::smdh::  Tourists.  We were sweating our asses off, but it was worth it.  She had so much fun swinging and sliding.

In earth-shattering parenting news of epic cuteness: I taught DD how to hug herself.  She folds those fat little arms over each other, holds on tight and really squeezes herself, turning from left to right.  She even gets a grunt in there sometimes.  A freaking dorable.

This weekend I got up at like 6:30  every morning (which is something I haven't done for months, on any morning), and was crashed out around 10. Not a bad thing, especially to try and get my schedule back on track ::fingers and toes crossed for myself::

Saturday we had a rescue event, where area trainers came in and did demos with some of the foster dogs we have in rescue. Bert and Ernie participated and did phenomenally.

Last night I hung out with rescue friends all day and we brainstormed about different fundraisers and things we can do this fall/winter. They brought their dogs over and we had a mini dog park party in the back yard.

I did some sewing and chores...
I couldn't get out to go see gramps on Saturday night because the Mr. and FIL worked on my car and I had to wait for Primer to cure.

And yesterday was supposed to be a day off...but turned into chores--went to the ILs (I'll post about that) and then went and bought a craigslist minifridge for BM @ work (yay!), and then got a phone call that a friend's dad died...we couldn't do much to help but I did manage to swing tomorrow AM off for the fuenral.
