Wedding Woes

5-7 business days

That's how long before my biopsy results come in. I called and asked. So that's something. I also have a CT scan next Tuesday. I'm going to have to tell my Dad; he knew I was having the endoscopy. *sigh* I'm going to call him tonight. I can't do it until DH gets home in case I can't get it out. I don't want to freak my dad out, but I don't want to lie to him either.

Here's another cosmic F*kc you: yesterday one of DH's cousins was in a bad car accident. The cousin is only 17. They don't know if he's going to make it.

I think I'm going to look for a psychologist. This is already more than DH & I can handle, and I don't want to flood the board with my whining.

5-7 business days seems like forever.  I'm sorry to hear about your cousin.  That is awful.

I think a psychiatrist is a good idea, but I don't mind your whining.  It's not like you are complaining about your selfish bridesmaid having the nerve to get a tattoo before your wedding.

    Man.

Good luck telling your dad and I'm sorry to hear about DH's cousin.  That's so terrible.

I'm glad you're looking for someone to talk to, but please know that we're all here and you can talk about it as much as you want.

This isn't whining. These are REAL issues.

Have you ever had a CT scan? They are no big deal and nothing to worry about.

I've never had a CT, but I'm not worried about it. I was more scared of the endoscopy 'cause of being fully sedated. I'm not really claustrophobic, which is what I've heard freaks people out.

The CT is like a big donut - it's not closed like an MRI (which is like a tube and small and scary). It is totall non-invasive, unless they decide to use contrast materials, which is just like getting a shot. Odd thing about the contrast materials, they make you feel like you have to pee. I appreciate the tech warning me about that.

Bring nice thick socks, because I am sure you're going to be cold.

if they allow you to bring in your own music, bring in something you like, but not something to move to, because you need to be still.

Ugh, so sorry all of this is happening. I hope they can get the results back sooner rather than later so you know what's going on and can start a treatment plan.

::Vibes:: for your cousin as well.

Agree with Hmo that you can whine here all you want.  It's legit and we care about you.

Good luck with telling your dad and the psychiatrist is a good idea.

If you (or the DH)  have an EAP...the short-term sort of counseling stuff they offer is ideal for this sort of situation IMO.

    But waiting SUCKS.
  • edited December 2011
I don't understand why it takes so long. My dad works for a renal lab and they test blood all day long. It takes 30 friggin minutes, but can they just send the results on over? No, it has to go through the whole process so people have to wait a week to find out what's wrong.

I'm sorry you have to wait so long, but hopefully it can just be over and done with as soon as possible with a quick fix.

I just closed my eyes and tried to relax for my MRI. It wasn't bad at all.

A really good friend sent me this bible verse when I was going through a hard time in my life, and I read it whenever I need to be encouraged.

So, I'm passing it to you.:)

    Psalm 27:3,5,13-14
Though an army may encamp against me, My heart shall not fear; Though war may rise against me,In this I will be confident. For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; In the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock. I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait on the LORD; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the LORD!

Agreed on the whining thing:  this doesn't count as whining.  (Not like, say, the word count on an article.  Repeatedly.)  I also like GBCK's suggestion about the EAP, if you're eligible through your summer gig or Wonderhusband's job.  If not, do you have access to counseling through school?

I'm sorry you have to tell your dad.  That can't be fun.  Just remember that we're all here.

That sucks that you have to wait so long.  Good luck on the CT.  And please, feel free to complain any time.

I'm so sorry to hear about your H's cousin.  That's terrible.
