Wedding Woes

Passion Question?

Who can maintain passion for 40 years? Love, yes. Attraction, yes. Passion?

I think it's rare to hear a couple say that they still have passion for each other after so many years. Maybe, I just only know cold fishes, but what says you?

Re: Passion Question?

  • I have no idea what that would look like.

The only people I know together that long are my parents.  I refuse to think of them that way.
  • I've seen a few.  But they work hard at it.

  • Before I opened this, I thought it was Easter related.  LOL

Yes, I think it's possible.  Do I think that it's something that is at the same level all the time?  No.  With anything else in life, I imagine it ebbs and flows.

But I know of people who've been married 20 or 30 years and now have all of the kids out of the house and are doing it as often as possible.

40 years just made me think they may start facing more physical limits.

  • I think it depends on what you define as passion really.  I don't think of passion as sexual only.

So yeah, I still have a passion for my husband; I want to spend time with him over all others, I want to see him, I want to laugh with him, I want to vacation with him, he still envelops, happily, a large portion of my life.  And yeah, I still desire him sexually above all others.  Except Vin Diesel, but the likelihood of that is small.

Hell, if I didn't have passion for him, I probably would've dumped his a$$ with the way the past year has been.
  • i2i w/V.

I think you summed it up well in your second paragraph.  Minus VD.  And I'll leave it at that.  ;)

ya know, I know my grandparents were still physically into each other when they were in their 70's.
Hell, when I was in High-school I walked in on them making out.
Which for some reason was a lot more 'sweet' than 'ARGH, eye bleach!"  but some of each :-P
  • Mrs C, I was going to say and not Passion of the Christ related. Ha.
