Wedding Woes

How was the weekend?

Sat we just sort of bummed around.
Sunday we got up at the azz crack of dawn.  Drove 1.5 hrs to meet my parents for breakfast then another 1.5 for nieces bday party.  We had a great time, but it drives me bananas that they don't serve dinner until 6.  Knowing full well we have a 3+ hr drive home and my parents have 2+.  We never get to stay for the cake or presents.  It wouldn't be so bad on a saturday, but on a Sunday?

Oh well.  The kids had a blast.

    Not long enough.
    Expensive.
Good, though.  Yoga, a long nap and 2 movies on Saturday.  Sunday errands and play date with my ssister and nieces at the park.  The girls were worn the heck out by the end, so totally worth the profuse sweating.

The Mr. and I ACCOMPLISHED stuff this weekend.  Little things.  And managed to get in naps.  But it's amazhing how many little things there are that need to be done--clean gutters, repoint chimney, etc.

I got a short chance to hang out w/ my 'almost sister' which is great (since she lives to far away anyore).  Yay!

I skipped the family reunion because I was tired and had a grumpy baby...
and said baby is teething.  She's only mildly grumpy during the day but at night...zounds.  I finally put her in bed w/ me by 2 am and dozed between 3 and 6 and am having coke for breakfast.

(and that lack of sleep is contributing to what's going to be a migraine--which sucks because I lsot my dark glasses this weekend.  But since I can't feel the fingertips on my left hand...well, it's only a matter of time.  On the plus side, there are no students today)

    Our weekend was great!!

Fri- Just hung out at the house.  Order pizza for dinner.  Went to bed early.

Sat-The kiddo had his first football game of the season, which his team won. Woot!  After the game, we went home and had lunch.  We cleaned out our pantry and moved some shelves around.  We went to Target and Sam's.  The kiddo ended up going to the movies and spending the night at a friends house.  We fed DefConn cereal for the first time. We hung out with our neighbors until late and had a few drinks with them.

Sun-I went to the grocery store first thing to pick up the stuff we forgot to get at Target.  I came home and busted ass around the house getting some stuff done.  We headed over to the mall to do some shopping. Then we headed out to my IL's to drop the kids off and we went out to dinner with some friends.  We had so much fun...I don't think I've laughed so hard in awhile.  We ended up meeting some really awesome people and we have potential new couple-friends that have a 10 and 4 year old.

Friday-I barely remember, just relaxing and eating random food.  Made biscuits for dinner...weird?  Yes...and lovely.

Saturday-I ran with my dad for an hour, he ran out of time, I ran on...up hills and more hills and more hills and i lived.  AND, I can still walk.  I was really stoked.  The rest of the day was cake, ran some errands with H, went to an anniversary/bday party and then came home, made pizza and crashed by 10.

Sunday-usual.  Slept in until 8:15 and then grocery store where I bought random crap and mostly normal stuff too.  Then went to help my mom clean out my old bedroom.  I haven't lived there for 9 years, but I was procrastinating HARD about it...but it is crunch time so....had to do that.  I am now in the possession of many holiday barbies.  Whee?  Dinner with parents and more relaxinga fter dinner.

Friday - Met up with friends for lunch at a kid's play place. It's tough with A's 2 naps per day because we usually only make it for lunch. He took a long nap and I did launry and other house stuff. We went to H's company's dinner and movie night. I ate pizza like it was my job, and we saw "Crazy Stupid Love". Slow and charming with some funny moments. Ryan Gosling is pretty sexy.

Saturday I took myself to the urgent care place. My cough wasn't getting any better and I was super uncomfortable sleeping on Friday night. They hooked me up with a breathing treatment, amoxicillan, prednisone and an asthma medication. By the end of the day, I was feeling great. DH's parents were going to their friends house (they lost their 25 year old son 2 years ago and this was their remembrance event) and said we could leave the baby with them. The mom was thrilled to see A -- she loves him. We went to dinner with some friends which was awesome, picked up A from the in laws and went home to bed.

Yesterday was yoga in the morning, breakfast with H's family, some shopping. H and baby went home to take naps, and I hit up Target and Publix to make a side dish for a BBQ we were going to. I have a separate story on the side dish.

Friday - took the day off and went to see The Help. I thought it was really good - sad but had some really funny parts. Grabbed a late lunch at Panera and just hung out and read my book while i ate. Went home, got in the pool and went swimming with Wolverine and DK when they got home.

Saturday - Daycare orientation - found out Wolverine will be graduating to the Infant B room in 2 weeks. (Most kids are 8-13 or so months - crawlers-early walkers). She's been crawling (military style) all over the place for the last few weeks. She's finally getting her hands and knees under herself, but will just rock back and forth and then plop back down. We say she's "revving her engine." After orientation, we went to the post office to get Wolverine's passport for our cruise in Dec. That was an ordeal. We had all of the paperwork and documents ready, but the Walgreens mgr who took her pictures didn't follow the guidelines, so the post office employee had to take her pic - i think it took 6 tries before she got a good one - she had to go straight out of the camera, so could't zoom or crop as needed. so we had to wait for it to print and then try again. Wolverine was freaking out by the end (she missed her am nap) We stopped to get food, went home, and swam.

Sunday - lazy day. just hung out at home and did some chores/watched tv.

Fri night: volunteered at a big charity bike race event, which ended up to be a huge cluster f***.   1800 volunteers with very little direction, plus pop up thunderstorms.   Good times.   Came home and chowed down on Chipotle.

Sat: volunteering again.  Came home, took a nap, went to my mom's to make deviled eggs for Sunday, came home, went to a community festival were I proceeded to pig out on chicken nachos and a funnel cake.

Sun: We went to my neice's baptism after the noon mass.   Praised the Lord that there were only 3 babies being baptized because we were HUNGRY.   Went to my mom's house for the reception - we had catered BBQ that was very good.   And of course my deviled eggs were a hit.  (I have now been crowned queen of the deviled eggs.)   Ate way too many carbs, including cake.   Came home, put DD down for a nap, watched PR then took a nap myself.   Snacked for dinner because we were all still stuffed.

Apparently, the theme of my weekend was eat until you feel sick.   And I still feel sick today.  Blech.

Fri: Not much. Hung out at the house. Stayed up late.

Sat: Did some work in the AM. H had the dogs at work and I went to see them for lunch and a dip in the pool. Then we went to dinner and caught up on Weeds.

Sun: Slept in. Ran errands. Watched some movies after dinner. Very mellow. But we had the day off together, so it was awesome.

Friday night I went and saw The Help with my mama, and cried like a boob through half of the movie. I liked it though.
Saturday, some family drama, and then I moved into my new apartment.
Sunday I hung out with my mom pretty much all day, and then when I got home one of my roommates had moved in so we talked until about 10, and I like her a lot. I hope my other one is as easy to get along with. (she's 30, so that helps!)

My H is coming this next weekend so I'm already dying for it to be the weekend again!
