Open Letters

Dear Women of the World,
I understand the appeal of sending your spouse to do the T-day shopping.  Do the rest of us a favor though and teach them shopping etiquette.  No chatting and taking up the whole aisle.  Pay attention to other shoppers.  Also (and this is for anyone) if you don't know how to use the self service line DON'T GET IT IN.

Also, if they don't have a basic idea of the store layout keep them home.  I am not their personal shopper or tour guide.

Dear Pharmacy Drive-Thru person,
If you don't understand your scripts go inside.  I understand wanting to inspect them, but pull over.  Do not hold up the line.

Dear ATM person,
You sat in line for 2 other cars, why did you wait until you pulled up to get out your wallet.  When you are finished it is also polite to pull ahead so you can put your crap away,

Finally Mr Van,
If you went mor than 15 mph in a 35 you wouldn't need a homemade sign that says "I brake for tailgaters."

Signed,
The woman locked in her home until after the holidays.  By holidays I mean St. Patrick's Day.

This is a huge pet peeve of mine.  Like, did they understand what they were waiting in line for all that time, or did it just occur to them once they pulled up in front of the ATM?  Sitting in line is the PERFECT time to root around in your glove box and giant purse until you find that card.

<div>Ugh, I agree completely. Costco yesterday was bad, and with the elementary schools down here out for the week, I was trying to get around so many people stopped dead in the middle of the aisles.</div>

I see my H is using your ATM.  This figures. He usually roams about as he likes to find a machine with the highest fees possible.

Or the people who are so old they can't get close enough to the ATM so they pull up, park and then GET OUT OF THE CAR.

WTF didn't you just go into the damn bank then?

Oh this is one of my HUGE pet peeves with H.  I'm all, "Do you realize it cost $5 to take $20 out of the machine?!"   This is while if I really don't have time to go to our bank, I'll stop at CVS or something and buy a pack of gum on debit and get cash back.  I'm lucky that my bank has an ATM in my building.

I experienced this nonsense yesterday. I stopped at Publix at lunch for an avocado and while I was there I picked up some things for DH's office's food drive. Confused looking men and old people were all over the place. One was having an in depth discussion with a woman over whether his turkey would fit in the aluminum pan he selected and if it all would fit in his oven.

AHEM. If they didn't make the stupid things so far away from the cars, we wouldn't have to hang out of them just to touch the buttons. Nobody likes to have stumpy arms, but we would appreciate being thrown a frickin' bone, here. <div>

THis is why I hate going to the grocery store around major holidays.  Because people who don't know me mistakenly think I'm approachable (HA!), I get random men asking me all kinds of questions:  what are cloves and where do I find them, if they don't have currant jelly can I buy strawberry, all sorts of nonsense.

I needed a bunch of stuff for our trip to GA, and went last night after DD was in bed and no one was at Publix.  No one.  It was GLORIOUS!

Normally I would go first thing in the morning, but I wanted Subway for lunch and didn't want to go out twice.
