Wedding Woes

Anyone else watch Scott Prouty?

On the Ed Show?

For those not in the know, he's the person responsible for filming Mitt Romney's fundraiser where he talked about the 47%.

I found him very believable and humble.  He's obviously a political junkie.  But he kept directing attention back to the video and to the journalists and organizations that supported him.  He also apologized to his former employers if he had caused them any problems.

I just wanted to know what other people though.  DH watched with me and seemed to think the same.

  • I didn't watch, but that sounds kind of odd.

  • O-face, DH and I talked about that.  And I think we find it "odd" b/c people doing things b/c they think it's the right thing to do and not taking credit for it to amp themselves up, isn't that common anymore.

He kept talking about how he didn't want David Corn to release his name, b/c he wanted the conversation to be about Romney and what he was saying, not about Scott Prouty.  He also admitted that he was afraid that he could be sued somehow (though he was never told by anyone that he couldn't record) or that someone would come after him to ruin his reputation.  I find all of that very normal, actually.

He said he had taken his camera b/c he had worked an event with Clinton previously, who came into the back to thank the waitstaff and take pics with them (something that Clinton is well known for doing).  He thought he'd get a pic with Romney.  He said in the middle of what Romney was saying, he realized this wasn't a stump speech.  He was actually most upset about the China factory comments, rather than the 47%.
  • I can see that V.  It sounds like he'd rather be "the man behind the curtain".  Then you can absorb information rather than get caught up in image, etc.
