Wedding Woes

I need help

I'm getting married in five months, and my father just passed away.  We were incredibly close, and the idea of him not being there is breaking me in half.  But, he wouldn't want that, so I'm trying to just pick up and continue on with the planning.  But that leads me to my dilemma.  My brother will be walking me down the aisle, and we will be dancing in place of the father/daughter dance.  The problem is that I have no idea what song to choose.  We're seven years apart, so he was out of the house before I really came into my own.  We're close enough, but have never been exceptionally close.  There are no real songs that we enjoyed together as children.  I am at a complete loss.

    I'm sorry for your loss.

Have you asked your DJ about this?  I'm sure he's got a list of songs that would be appropriate for your situation.

Pick the same song as you would have if your father were here.

Is there a song that your dad loved?

Do you have to do the father/daughter dance at all?

I think we do have to do it.  My fiance's mother wouldn't do the mother/son dance if I wasn't, and she only has the one opportunity, and I won't take that from her.  I like the song my dad loved idea.  Maybe I'll run that by my mother and see what she thinks.  I'd thought of doing my parents wedding song until I remembered that my brother and sister in law used that as their wedding song as well.

I have no input, but I'm sorry for your loss.
