People who know more about pregnancy than I do (no, not me)

If a woman loses her mucous plug months before her due date how dangerous is this?

Is she sure it's MP?  Things are extra snotty down there, especially last trimester.

In and of itself, it's not indicative of imminent labor, and no danger in losing it.  It could come out and be weeks before anything happens.  Or it could regrow itself back.  Or it can never really come out except when labor is underway.

All it might do if it came out months early is be cause for the doc being a little watchful for early labor.  Maybe.  Might not too.  Depends on what the OB/MW thinks about MP's.

She's already on graduated bed rest, she's had some contractions. I think it was the harshness of having a baby and then immediately getting pregnant. Still, I hope she and the child are okay.
