Wedding Woes

Fruit salad question

Can I buy a premade fruit salad, toss it in cool whip and call it a day?  Is that tasty enough?  It's not something I would eat, but figured I could run it by those of you most likely to eat such a thing.  ;)

TIA!

Ick.  Fruit salad, to me, is nothing more than cut up fruit.  Frankly I prefer to just cut it up and put it on a platter so people can take what they want.  Get some of the fruit dip and put it along side.  Or you can make the fruit dip with marshmallow fluff and yogurt and a bit of cinnamon.

why would you ruin perfectly good fruit by  putting it in cool whip? no thanks.

i'd go with 6's suggestion of getting a fruit platter, and then adding dip on the side, if you want. i like fruit, so i'd rather just have plain melon, berries, etc.

I guess I should've qualified that this is for a group of 1-2 year olds.  Guess I can skip the cool whip and just take chopped fruit.  It's for L's bday party celebration at school.  There are two other moms bringing stuff, too.  I was going to take fruit/fruit salad and graham crackers.

Ditto ick to the cool whip.  I like the fruit tray idea or salad is really, really easy and so much better when not everything in it has been boiled in a can.  I usually buy a can of pineapple chucks to start because it is easier than cutting up a pineapple and the juice keeps apples and other things from turning brown as you add them.  And then I add whatever strikes my fancy in the produce section.

fruit salad could be a choking hazard. Just sayin.  If you trust these kids with chopped up fruit you can use plain/vanilla yogurt instead of cool whip.

I'd rather a fruit tray. Strawberries and such all clean and cut up are so pretty to look at, although 2 year olds probably could care less. When it's all mixed together I find it pretty unappetizing.
