Wedding Woes

AF & 6

During past week in Chicago with my mom at a wholesale craft show we were across the way from a couple of women from Columbus and it has me convinced that Columbus is an awesome place to live.  They were telling me about their crafting group.  Are either of you crafty and/or looking for friends because it sounds awesome.  She said that they don't consider you part of the group unless you manage to talk about vaginas within the first 20 minutes - not your grandma's craft group.

I thought about you two after she showed me a magazine article (BH&G, I think) about the ice cream place that you were talking about.  She was psyched because her ice cream cozies (felt wraps for ice cream cones) were pictured in the article, too.  One of her samples at the show was an apron with a unicorn on it.  I was so very tempted to buy it and hold onto it for SS this year.

I need to look her up on FB and like her business because I'm sure it is entertaining.

Interesting.   Ice cream cozys.   OK.   Not sure I see the use for those, but whatevs.
Columbus is really awesome.  And Jeni's ice cream is amazing.
If you find her business on FB, let me know.   And if I ever find time to focus on ME, I might need to look for that crafting group.  I could certainly use the ME time and some friends.
You should plan a trip to Columbus to see us and all the other awesome things.  :)

Speaking of trips, my dad just came back from a trip to Wisconsin to see some Frank Lloyd Wright stuff.   They went to Talisan (sp?) and stayed at a mid-century modern "motel" nearby.  It looked really cool.

I want to go to Taliesin so bad.  And a mid-century motel on top of it??  ::strokes out::

They went to Taliesin West last fall.
Their trip to WI (via Columbus through Chicago) was full of MCM and modern art.   The Milwaukee Modern art Museum seemed like it was really nice.   DH and I might plan a road trip following their exact itinerary.   I had no idea Wisconsin was so nice.

AF - if you plan a Wisconsin trip, try to make time to go to The House on The Rock.

You really have to see it to believe it...

My dad and step-mom went there, too!   Very cool!   That will definitely be part of our itinerary whenever we're able.

No, I was at a gift & home show.  Only section of it was American handcraft and the buyers are all gift shops, interiors stores and the like.

Sadly I do not craft.  I always think I want to.  I wander Hobby Lobby and fill my cart.  I imagine all of the things I can do and cute stuff I can make.  Then I put it all back.  Someone made me a scrapbook for 6let.  All I needed to do was glue in pictures (and they gave me the right stuff) and i STILL haven't done it.

If DH gets this job tomorrow I may have to try it though.
