I have always used the long A - as Zsa said, like the bAcon it mimics.


Guess what MIL calls it.  I didn't think she was right, but I was curious if anyone else had ever heard anyone call it that.

Also? Back-ohs are gross. She was just about to add them to the salad when I was getting mine, but I managed to get a serving before it was ruined.

I've learned now that I really don't like any of their food. I bought some deviled eggs at the grocery store to bring so there would be *something* I would want to eat, but even they were gross. I guess I'll have to actually make my own from now on.

Seriously. It was a hilarious day, now that I"m looking back on it and everyone came out alive.

Why the hell would it not be pronounced the same as bacon?  She does realize it's supposed to taste like bacon, right?  I mean, she surely knows the correlation.  SMH

I am very thankful that my family is somewhat adventurous with food.  No bac-os in site.  Our menu on Saturday was some kind of apple brats with fennel potato salad, deviled eggs (that I made and that were good), slaw (that was homemade and on the dressing) and baked beans (also, while not weird were homemade, not overly sweet and very good). 

Menu with friends yesterday was gorganzola spinach quiche, tossed salad with homemade vinegrette, assorted cheeses, veggies, apples, grapes, crackers, shrimp, biscuits (not homemade, but also not canned), homemade lemonade and homemade iced green tea with mint and oranges.
