We're gonna order our wedding cake from wegmans because they make a really good layer cake, and we can get it in tiers like a normal wedding cake looks like. My mom and her sister is giving me crap about not getting a cake from the bakery they like to get their cakes from but its so much more expensive there and I think their cakes are not as good, and wegmans makes their cakes fresh to order not sitting around using sugar water to make it seem like a moist cake. Should I listen and get the bakery cake because it's more professional and people will like the way that cake looks better?? Is it gonna ruin the look of our wedding to have a supermarket cake?

The only wedding cake I remember is my own.  I couldn't tell you what my brother and SIL's cake looked like without looking at pics and their wedding was less than a year ago.

Get whatever cake you want.  No one will know where it's from unless you tell someone (or your mom or aunt).

i will say that i normally take a picture of the cake at every wedding i go to.  but that's just my cake porn.

wegman's makes AWESOME cake!  maybe they have never had wegman's cake and they don't know what they are missing out on.  i feel bad for them.

also to note - a supermarket doesn't bake the cake on a rotisserie with the chicken. they have a bakery and use professional grade ovens to bake cakes and breads.

Its your day. Order the cake you want.  Enjoy eating it too!!  If your family doesnt like them, tell them when they have their weddings they can chose their own cake! LOL Have your cake, and eat it too!!!  )

Wegman's all the way!  If it's what you want/like/can afford, then do it.  My mom got suckered into getting an expensive wedding cake (paid for by someone else) and they managed to mess up the decoration AND it didn't taste anything like the samples.  Get the cake that makes you happy

It's your wedding..do what makes you happy.  We LOVE the chocolate cake from Costco.  You know the one?  It weighs a ton and is the best tasting chocolate cake ever.  I bought 5 of them..had cake stands in 5 different heights with our initials on the middle cake.  Didn't regret it for even a second. Like someone else said, I couldn't tell you what the cake looked like from other weddings.
