After I got engaged, the first thing I knew I wanted to do was find my dress. I ended up finding a picture of a beautiful Melissa Sweet gown from Priscilla of Boston in The Knot magazine.
I made an appointment at the nearest PoB and met the most wonderful consultant in the world! Let's call her B. Since the dress was so new they didn't have it in the store so she ordered it for me to try on and had me try other dresses. My family, including my father, simply adore her. She went from a sweet, polite stranger to a good friend of the family. I even invited her to my wedding!
Fast forward a few months and I receive this heartfelt letter in the mail from B saying that she has been offered a job in her previous field and that she was taking it so I was going to work with another consultant from now on.
I understand that she needs to make the best decision for herself professionally but I can't help but be sad that she won't be there to help me with my perfect wedding dress. She did give me her personal contact info so I'll be able to stay in touch with her. I still want her to come to my wedding and she asked if she could come to my fittings!
I'm really happy that I made such a good friend when I was looking for my wedding dress.
