Weird, right?

We hand-delivered some of our invitations, one in particular to my cousins who live up the road from my parents' house. My sister dropped it off and it was on their counter when she left.

She went over there over the weekend--almost a month later--and the invitation was in the exact same spot, unopened! My cousin's wife was like, "What? You know we're coming." My sister said, "First, she needs your RSVP anyway. Second, don't you want to know the addresses where everything is?? And aren't you curious to know what the invitation looks like???" I thought that was so strange! Invites wouldn't last a day in my mail pile, let alone a month!

LOL. No. Trust me. Aside from being not busy, they are the type of people who think you should know they are coming. They didn't respond to our e-party either, my mom had to call them and they were all, "You know we're going on vacation!" They had mentioned in passing a mont prior they were going on vacation--not like we knew the exact dates and itinerary!

Sounds like you need to return the favor next time they invite you or one of your family to something, heaven forbid a NYE party.  Don't RSVP.  If they call just say "You KNOW I'm getting married that night!"

That is sooo bizarre. Just leaving it on the same spot on the counter for a month? Who wouldn't be at least curious what it looks like, locale, etc?

That is nuts! I couldn't imagine anything especially mail or an invite to be in the same place for over a month. Plus, I'm with PP that I wanna see the invite and RSVP right away!

LMAO, Ahuette, you have a VERY good point!  Maybe she did move it - to wipe the counter while cleaning, then moved it back?  One can only wonder...

To me that says that they are either lazy or they just don't care. I am thinking lazy because they didn't clean either. You at least think if they had cleaned they would have opened it.

I didn't even think of that! I think they might have someone clean their house though so the person might have cleaned and put back in the same spot. But it would def. be a better story if that's not the case, lol.

thats exactly what i was thinking.. they didn't move it to clean... glad i'm on the only one. if they have some one cleaning they would definately put it back where they found it. still odd. i would definately wonder why it wasn't open. i would probably ask though because i'm just like that.

That's just too bad! I'm sorry your cousins don't care enough to open it! And I'm w/ others, I would be rippin that sucker open to see how beautiful and unique it is!

At least you have other guests who did rip them open immediately AND responded, and I bet they were amazed at how much thought you put into them.
