Shark Week

Since I don't have cable, SW is not on my radar.  My initial thought at reading my FB newsfeed was, "Good god it's like period week up in here.  FOR EVERYONE.  Can people synch up via FB now?!  What is this world coming to?"  Then it clicked.

Monday moron moment, brought to you by your neighborhood Nico and the number Leg.

    Awesome.

And thanks for the reminder. We were planning to TiVo a bunch of them for Dexter. We'll have to preview them first and delete the really gory ones, but we are hoping for some more nerdy/sciencey ones that he would enjoy.

We have "The eruption of mount pinatubo" tivo-ed, and he watches that thing like it's Thomas the Train or something.

    ha-ha!
We spent all day yesterday watching the last years marathon, and I'm sure my H will watch it all week long. We plan to celebrate the end of shark week by going surfing. In the ocean. Hopefully I don't have a panic attack (cause if I do I might end up making injured seal sounding splashes which will only draw more sharks to me!)

DG, do you have On Demand? They go all out on VOD programming during Shark Week, and they'll probably have some of the older stuff, like the Mythbusters and Dirty Jobs specials on there (if they're not airing them regularly). BFF and I were watching last night and wondering if they're even bothering to produce new programming anymore.

I always assumed Shark Week was not nearly as big a deal to the real world as it was to Discovery people.

We have some kind of on demand through the cable. Don't you have to pay extra for that, though?

He's 2. He likes watching the same thing over and over and over. If I just TiVo stuff, it's free. :)

I totally programmed it to record some gory stuff, too, though, for H and me. We won't let him watch sharks eat people - we are headed to the beach in a couple of weeks. :)

As long as you have both Discovery Channel and On Demand with your cable package, Discovery On Demand is free. It's the On Demand movies you have to pay for. Your content will depend slightly on which cable provider you have, because some have capacity for more hours than others.
