We’ll Be Chatting With Dolphins In No Time Margaret Hartmann — This summer researchers will try out a system that could let them "co-create" a language that both humans and dolphins understand. As part of a project called Cetacean Hearing and Telemetry, or CHAT, divers will use underwater computers to record noises made by dolphins and respond with a few different sounds. The ultimate goal is to uncover the "fundamental units" of dolphin communication.
