I think like many people, I've tried to do a lot of my planning online. That's been fine, and there's a lot of information out there. But one thing has really bothered me: websites that insist on playing music.
What is it about weddings that make you think I want to hear trite little "romantic" music that I have to hunt on the site to turn off? God forbid I'm using some sort of list and open up multiple links in new windows!
I understand it a little on entertainment options like bands, djs, and quartets. I'd still rather just have a page where I can select if and what I want to hear, but whatever. It makes sense. But what DOESN'T make sense is a wedding venue, a caterer, a photographer, or a florist putting up music that starts up with no provocation. It's annoying and it's ridiculous. It certainly doesn't make me more inclined to use their services; I'm not in the market for someone who didn't learn any lessons from MySpace pages.
PS. That does include the annoying "theknot tv" thing that I can't even stop... i have to just mute. GODDDDDD
/rant off. sorry
