Wedding Woes

Randoms

1. I drove a Chrysler Town and Country last night (minivan). I hate myself so much for saying it, but it was pretty sweet. The trunk space was nice, it was comfortable, and obviously roomy. If it had a bathroom, I think I would have ditched my hotel and just slept in there. I still won't buy a minivan though.

2. My flight last night was so ghetto (dude sitting next to me was wearing sunglasses. At 11 pm.) A lot of people were listening to music and of course, listening at the loudest volume possible. It was a bit country music with rap and hip-hop. I just felt like some old lady about to yell at people to get off her lawn.

3. Movie reviews:
- Ides of March: I think hmo posted ages ago about this movie but it's horrible. I think what I was hoping was Ryan Gosling would walk around naked or something but instead it was just lame.
- Young Adult: It says it's a comedy. There wasn't anything funny about it. It was okay.
- The Hunger Games: I am going to be the only one who says it, but I didn't care for the movie. Spoiler Alert: In the books she comes out of the games like mangled. Same with Peeta. Instead at the end she looks a bit sweaty and wearing some torn clothes. Meh. I liked the casting save for Josh Hutcherson. He would have been a good Peeta if they had left his hair dark like it is in real life, and not blonde and like a creeper.
-Everything Must Go: It's on Netflix. It's okay. It's somewhat short so that's nice.
-Lincoln Lawyer: Fairly predictable. It was okay. Nothing spectacular.

And I'll have to post my actual wedding related thing in a separate post.

Re: Randoms

  • One of my co-workers swears that one day I will drive a mini van. I'm with you: it may be convenient but I can't do it. I just can't.

I am tired of peeing. I feel like it's all I do. My bladder is the size of a postage stamp.

It was raining cats and dogs this morning so all of my clients cancelled on me... But now it's bright and clear outside and I'm stuck in here with no clients to meet.

This turned out too complainy so one more random, on a positive note: I have Weight Watchers candy and it is delicious.

  • Ides of March was terrible.

The Hunger Games bothered the snot out of me because they changed so many details, but I liked it overall.  I agree that Josh Hutcherson looks like a creeper as Peeta.

I love Matthew McConaghey (yes, that's spelled wrong.  too lazy to google) and Marisa Tomei, so I found Lincoln Lawyer to be enjoyable.

We went minivan shopping on Mother's Day.  I was kind of excited with the features, but I still don't want to drive something that big.  The Town and Country is on our list, but we need to figure out if the seats stow and go or have to be physically removed.

I want to see Ides of March simply because part of it was filmed at my university.  I did not care for Young Adult.
  • 6, my parents have one and they stow.  They just fold down and they're pretty easy to fold once you learn how.  We use theirs for traveling all the time and I love it.

6 - I think they have both options available.

Minivans are awesome, especially the Town & Country.   I love borrowing my mom's.  As soon as our Jeep dies we're moving on to a minivan.   I can't wait!

I thought HG was ok but it wasn't as good as it could have been.  I was really disappointed in The Reaping.  It was kind of anti-climatic. I really liked the las scene with the Gamemaker (Seneca Crane?).

ETA: I kind of want a minivan but DH would never go for it.
  • I've been driving a minivan since 2008.  When the 5 of us are traveling, it's completely packed.  There's no way I could drive anything smaller.
