For whatever reason, my Blackberry is set to make a ding noise whenever someone posts something to me on Facebook and I get a text. I can't shut it off. Or rather, I can't figure out how to shut it off. I love everyone for sending birthday wishes because I'm a giant AW, but I was getting them at 2 am. I keep the phone in the bedroom because it's my alarm too. So all night long I heard the dings and I can't farking figure out how to shut it off because I'm stupid.

I've also had this problem with my blackberry. But I just put it on silent. I want to turn off all the notifications that I get, but I do not know how.

Are they emails, or FB specific notifications?

There is a bedside mode for the BB.  That stops the ringing and dinging all night long.  As far as notifications from FB, you can turn them off on FB under your account settings.

I don't get them for emails, just for FB. I really do like this Blackberry thing but it's getting the best my stupid azz.

#2 - I think that is a FB issue, not a BB issue. H gets pushes or notifications for his ESPN app on his iPhone and it makes the ESPN noise and I want to throw his phone in the lake.

I would try 2 things:

FB:  Make it so you don't get notified everytime someone comments on your profile.

Cell Phone:  Look under a Settings type Menu for notifications.  This is probably attached to e-mail or IMing somehow, so turn those notifications off.

I have my bb set to not put notices like that through after 11 PM or before 7 AM.  I can't remember how I did it. I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon, I'll try to see if I can figure out where you set that while I'm waiting and I know I'll have to wait at least a bit, always do..
