Wedding Woes

Things

1.  This morning, DefConn was laying on his stomach in his crib and popping his head up and saying, "I see you!" and then laying his head back down.  He did this about 5 times.  It was hilarious.

2.  I made my first quiche last night.  It was perfect.  I'm not sure why I was so afraid of one before.

3. DH went from no work to working 50 hours a week.  Plus, he's already started working from home at night.  He's going to have to work Sundays for the next couple months too because he's got to get some guys trained on stuff.   Thank goodness the pay for his new position took effect immediately.

4. I got all of spring break week off except for Friday...which is annoying.  Luckily DH can probably get Friday off so we have complete DefConn coverage.

5. I need to destress or something.  I am not sleeping at all.  Too much change at once and my anxiety levels are up.

Re: Things

  • 1. DD decided to have a full on screaming meltdown last night when I laid her in bed. Not knowing if it was pain or not, she ended up on the couch with us for about an hour. We even had to start her over night feed while she was out there. (I hate doing that because it's tubing to contend with when trying to get her back into bed).

    2. I have a man cold. I admit it. I'm whiny and miserable to be around.

    3. I'm dreading Passover next week. Mostly because of my azzhole extended family. I wouldn't even be going to my aunt and uncle if not for my mom and grandma being there. For those two to be able to spend time with DD, I'd do just about anything.

    4. MrsC - I'll go on a destressing cruise with you.

Aw defconn.  I love quiche.  It's a great way to use up odds and ends.

    Sorry you aren't sleeping.

  • May I suggest taking some Unisom at night?  I don't even wake up to pee with half of one.

  • I was going to suggest Benedryl to help you sleep. Also, try to get some physical activity in during the day. I have trouble sleeping due to anxiety sometimes and staying active during the day really helps.

  • Defconn is very cute.  I'm sorry you can't sleep, I'm sure its normal with the level of excitement around there.

Dixie, I'm sorry to hear about the meltdown---I cannot even fathom.  I won't pretend I can.

    Things:

-I love seeing laxative tea on the countertop.  I understand everyone has to go, but go drink your poo tea quietly.

-H is beyond happy with new job.  I know he had just day #1, but I haven't seen him this happy in a long looooonng time.

  • O-Face - glad your H is happier. Is this the start of the 14 weeks?

  • Sadly no, Dixie.  His 14 weeks starts the very last monday of April and he'll be away M-F and hopefully back on the weekends.
He got all of his gear yesterday, uniforms and HUGE books.  Ha.  Just the beginning.

  • O- LOLing at poo tea.   YAY for a happy H.

Even though H is doing two jobs right now and working his tail off, he's so stinking happy.  It makes me happy.
  • Exactly C.  EXACTLY.  It makes me so proud.
I told H he's all growed up now.

toddler zilla must have felt sympathetic to miss DD monster, because he screamed and cried for a long while before he gave into the temptation of sleep. not cool. but, what else is new.

conn - i usually never advocate alcoholism, but a shot or two of a nice high proof liquor will allow you to relax at night. screw wine, it takes too long to drink the glass down.

  • Wzz, if that's the case tonight, I say we lock the two in a room together and get hammered. I have over-proof rum in the liquor cabinet.

Crown Royal is gross, you should try Maker's mark or Knobb creek.

i am not sure why i don't just get some jack daniels.

there's actually a reason i bought CR. i'm trying to find the whiskey an old timey relative used to drink, but everyone in that circle is dead, so i can't figure out who to ask. i'm just trying some out to see which one it is. so far, it's not CR, not woodford reserve, not jameson.....blah.

i need a really good, expensive whiskey that smells sweet and strong.
  • I'm not a big whiskey person, but I do like Woodford Reserve.

Knob Creek is OK, if you get the lower proof (80 vs 100, I think).  The higher proof is too much...it burns to the point where it's not enjoyable.

  • OMG - we have the best Rye Whiskey (Rittenhouse) in our cabinet. It's sooooo smooth if you have if over 2 ice cubes. Yummy!

woodford is my favorite, but it's not the one i am looking for.

looks like i need to make a special trip to he liquor store.
  • Ugh, I need to destress too. Sunday I went out for a bit and shopped; spent way too much on makeup but I don't care. It's was temporary and what I really need is a vacation.
