After I left for college I had to give up my primo bedroom and take the tiny one that shared a wall with my parents' room.  I had to sleep with headphones on during the summer to avoid wondering what those noises were - I mean, how often can someone toss and turn?

I lived in an open door house.  Unless you were going to change/dress/stare at your vag, you had to have your door open.  We were never allowed to lock any interior doors.  Ever.

When I was a teen, I could close my door.  Mostly b/c my parents didn't want to hear "that" music or tv or phone conversation.  But it was still light's out and door open for bedtime.

oh, no idea.  My parents broke up when I was 4 so I have no answer.  Now if we changed that to when she had boyfriends it would be "closed and locked her bedroom door."

Door was always cracked open. Big sized crack. Unless they were getting it on. But they only did that twice - once for me and once for my sister - and hated it both times.

This, although when I was a teenager, door could be closed at bedtime.

they usually left it half open. my sister and i closed our doors - we were on the 2nd floor, my parents were on the first. the bathroom was right next to their room, so you had to be quiet at night - mom was a light sleeper. none of the internal doors locked.

SS-traumatized. The door was closed....but my bedroom was UNDER their bedroom. I don't know whose Idea that was, but sometimes I slept in the laundry room.

    I have no idea.

We're door open in the summer unless it's "private time", because otherwise we don't get any cool air. In the winter sometimes we'll close up shop and run a space heater if it's really cold, but that's usually door open, too. Although we don't have to wait until bedtime during the school year, so she's less traumatized.

you know, I'm not even sure. I think the door was open.

we close ours, but only because of the light coming from the living room/kitchen/office.
