back in a second to post a picture of my banana cake with chocolate sour cream frosting.  on one hand, i wish dc had good produce, and dh and i would have to stop buying bananas three at a time because they go brown so quickly.  on the other hand, it's nice to have a bunch of bananas on hand in the freezer so i can make cake whenever i want.

btw, one of the things i LOVE about this recipe is that i only dirty one measuring cup and two measuring spoons.

the frosting is the chocolate sour cream frosting.  i use that because i already have the big tub of sour cream for the cake.

Excellent.  There's a potluck at work next Tuesday, so maybe I can bring this bit of baking awesomeness.  Low dirty dish count is an extra bonus.

I also meant to add that I know exactly what you mean about bananas.  I have tubs and tubs of mashed bananas stored to use up because mine ripen about 2 minutes after I get them home.

yes!  it is insanely frustrating to have a banana that is both green and brown -- no yellow anywhere.  what the what, banana weirdos!

right now, we have to store them in the fridge because one of our neighbors has  a fruit fly farm, and the bananas are all turning brown in there, but when you eat them, they are unripe.
