I invited L to stay with me for the weekend. Together we invited K to come along. Now L wants to bring her 10 year old son. I told her no (it was to be a more adult-friendly weekend, to help her blow off steam) and I think she's now pissed.

Am I heartless, because L just left her husband and the son gave her puppy eyes when she mentioned coming to visit for the weekend, and he would have to stay with his grandparents? (as in, he gave the aw, shucks, what about me to her)

Either way it's not happening. i suggested a hotel if it's that big of a deal for him to come.

    I don't think you're heartless.  If she feels that her son needs time with her since she just left her H, then the solution is for her to stay home and be with her son.  Not drag him to a girls' weekend.

    Ok, I thought maybe I was crazy. It's just not going to be fun for a 10 year old boy, even if we do have video games. AND it wouldn't be fun for us.
