Wedding Woes

something you like about your job

Name one thing (or more) that you like about your job.

I was thinking about this because I'm still somewhat disappointed that my interview people are planning for the end of the year.  I was hoping they would be my ticket out, and now that they're not, I feel sort of stuck.  So I was forcing myself to try to be positive and think of what I like here.

I love my window.  When they subdivided the conference room, I got the giant window.  It's about as wide as my wingspan (5-6 ft) and runs floor to ceiling, which is maybe 15 feet in here.  I love it the most in the afternoon in the summer, when the air gets unstable and those ginormous puffy pre-thunderstorm clouds start to form.  I spent the better part of a conference call once watching a huge cloud rise higher and higher until it seemed like it was going to swallow everything else up.  And I overlook trees.  It's a nice view.

Your turn.

I like a lot of it - the work I do, my boss, the location, the hours. Also, it's a small, family type business. They're understanding about family obligations as well as personal time. My boss even told me that if one day I didn't have someone to watch Mr. Loverman, I could bring him into the office.

I can wear whatever I want to work, which is a true luxury to me.

The only thing I don't like is the bathroom. The building I work in is old, and all the women on my floor share one bathroom. The bathroom is old, dirty and smelly. I hate when random people from other offices or from the street wander in. I really prefer privacy when I go to the bathroom.

I can do it in my pajamas all day, every day, if I wanted to.

I never have to ask for vacation or call in sick.

    I'm the boss.

    my boss is awesome.

I like the fact that despite my "position" and "rank" I still get to go on awesome business trips.

I love the family feel of my office of over 200 people.

My boss is fantastic, and I love everything about the campus (minus the parking situation).

Well, if I'm talking about photography as if it's my job, I love everything about the actual shooting and editing process. I love working with the animals, and playing with the pictures.

I don't care much for the business aspect of it, but it's not awful.

My two coworkers and big boss. Big Boss did an agenda for a meeting to give to us and the title was "Long-Ass meeting". It made my day (and it's been a shiteous day!)

My bosses and pretty much all of my coworkers.  It's the most drama-free place I've ever worked.

generous with the time off.  i get a lot of time off in general, and a lot of paid time off.

i have enough in the bank that i can take three months maternity leave without a lot of problems, time or money-wise.

    - I work at home and we couldn't probably move anywhere in the country (maybe the world) for DH's job and I could keep mine as long as I have a phone and high-speed internet

    -  I get a lot of vacation time

    - I don't work with any completely mean people

There are some nice benefits, like massive discounts everywhere (hello 23% off of my cell phone bill, $18 membership to nicest gym in town), and pretty low drama/maintanence CWs.

I love (for the most part) seeing patients again. They are cuh-ray-zay but interesting. I wish I could tell stories.

My co-workers ROCK. They threw me a party today.

I like the work. It's challenging enough, and there is always plenty to do.

It's a casual work environment. I'm in a tee, linen pants, adn dressy sandals. Better than my last job which meant dress pants, nice shirts, and heels.

    The hugs are the best.

I also like taking a few naps and snuggling on the couch.
