    I'm down to talk MM.

WTF with Pete sticking the screws to his FIL? I must be forgetting something. It had to have something to do with that lunch.

Why TF did Don's secretary assume Peggie had also forked him, and why did she flip when he told her she could write her own letter? I thought that was the norm?

DED @ Peggy peering over the glass.

OMG Peggy looking of the glass was awesome! It wasn't until I started laughing that H caught it.

Also with Peggy - Joyce: "He doesn't own your vagina" Peggy: "No but he's renting it"
    Best. Line. Ever.

Pete is being typical Pete. I don't think it had anything to do with the lunch but more to do with him feeling like he held the aces now that he was making this man a grandpa. His FIL held the sword over Pete when he first gave him Clearasil. Now Pete feels he has the upper hand.

I have a feeling this was Don's secretary's first job. She just assummed what she did was normal and all of the previous secretaries did the same. Her mistake. I also think she wanted him to write her letter so that she would have something from him that had glowing comments since she never got those from him post boinking.

John Slattery needs to direct more episodes. Between Peggy's peering and Bert sitting there in the background eating an apple while Joyce was flirting with the SCDP receptionist there was subtle hilarity.

Pete is such an ass.  I think that now Trudy is pregnant, and her father doesn't want to see his baby divorced and pregnant, Pete has all of the power and is using it.

I loved Peggy in this episode.  I thought she was going to get to the party, figure out that her new friend was into her and freak out.  She handled it very well, had fun and met a man.  Good for her.

Peggy started as Don's secretary, so I imagine that a lot of people in the office assume that she only made it to copywriter by sleeping her way there.  Little do they know that Don does give a flying fluck about the women he sleeps with.

I couldn't quite put my finger on Peggy's reaction to Trudy's pregnancy.  I guess she enjoyed having this little secret that she had Pete's baby and now Pete is going to have another and that would bring up all sorts of old feelings, but I wasn't sure that was exactly what was going on.

And LOL@ Don's poor typing skills.

in regards to Peggy's reaction to Trudy's pregnancy - I think a lot of it had to do with unresolved feelings and probably a hell of a lot of resentment that Pete will be there for this child but not for his first child (not that Peggy is there for that kid, but that doesn't matter in regards to emotional reactions).

I also fully expected Peggy to start experimenting with her new friend. But then I got sad thinking they'd send her the same way as Sal (who I really want them to bring back.)

H and I were debating on what this episode was about. I thought it was keeping relationships behind closed doors. He though marriage and the complexities of it. In retrospect I think it was a combination of the two.

The title was "The Rejected" or "Rejection" or something like that.  Alison was rejected by Don.  Life magazine girl was rejected by Peggy.  Peggy was rejected by Pete.  Don was reflecting his rejection from his marriage (at least I'm guessing that was what that final scene with the old couple was about).

interesting.. i wouldn't have put Don't reflecting on his marriage with the old couple. That's what made me think about the closed doors. She wouldn't even discuss pears with him in the hall way.

Maybe not his marriage, maybe just his inability to be part of a couple.

    Also with Peggy -
Joyce: "He doesn't own your vagina"
Peggy: "No but he's renting it"
    Best. Line. Ever. <- AGREED!

I think Peggy is weirded out by the pregnancy somehow - she didn't even sign the office's card. That is out of character for her. She always had the fact that she had Pete's baby to make her feel, um...special (maybe this is not the right word?)with regards to Pete. But now that Truddy is having one of his babies, she doesn't have that any more.

Also, Don got that picture of him with his first "wife" in CA. He was reflecting on that.
